Project/Activity Grants (PAG) Program

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question: What is PAG?
Answer: The University Enterprises, Inc. Board of Directors offers funds through Project/Activity Grants (PAG) for projects or activities that support or enhance the mission of our University.

Question: Who can apply?
Project/Activity Grants are available to Sacramento State student organizations, faculty, and staff who have a project or activity that is innovative, shows demonstrable need, and benefits the campus community.

Question: How are grants awarded?
All submitted proposals are reviewed by the Project/Activity Grant Committee, which is comprised of three University Enterprises, Inc. Board members and four Sacramento State representatives. Funding decisions are made by the UEI Board of Directors on the recommendation of the PAG Committee.

Project/Activity Grant resources are now divided into two (2) categories: Campus/Project Impact Fund and New Initiatives Fund.  See Award Criteria for description and guidelines.

See Deadlines.

Question: How do we apply?
See How to Apply.

Question: Are the PAG forms available online?
Answer: See Forms.

Question: Can I apply for a Project/Activity Grant to pay for a student assistant to do some data entry and analysis for a research project?

Question: I am planning on attending a conference in New Orleans, can I apply for a Project/Activity Grant to cover my travel and lodging expense?

Reimbursement for registration fees is considered if you are a formal presenter and your attendance at the conference benefits a significant number of Sacramento State students, faculty and/or staff. You may want to check the following for other sources of funding.

Question: I am a member of one of Sacramento State's finest student organizations and we want to have a networking event here at Sac State. I need quotes for my proposal from University Enterprises' catering department and also from Copy Graphics Center. How do I get this information?
Answer: For catering quotes, please call the Catering manager at 278-6786, and they will be happy to assist you with your event needs. For printing or copying quotes, go to our Copy Graphics Center page.

Question: I am a faculty member and I want to invite a keynote speaker to speak at a function for my department. I want to apply for a grant to pay the nominal speaker honorarium of $200, and I also want to provide some refreshments for the attendees. Is this an appropriate request for a Project/Activity Grant?
Answer: First the good news: you can apply for a grant for the Catering department to provide refreshments at your event. Now for the other news: according to award guidelines no requests for honoraria are funded.

Question: Our student group would like to host a big campus/community-wide event. The total event budget is approximately $5,000 - can we apply for a Project/Activity Grant to cover the cost of the entire event?
Answer: Most events of this nature can be broken down into segments. When applying for a Project/Activity Grant (or any grant), it is important to show that you have sought other sources of funding for your event. In addition, keep in mind when applying for a grant that the two funding options have different funding limits. The funding limit for grants from Campus/Project Impact Fund is typically $2,000. Grant requests for the New Initiatives Fund may not exceed $10,000. See criteria.

Question: I still have questions regarding the Project/Activity Grant application. Who may I contact?
Answer: Please see our contact page.
