Financial Consideration

A feasibility study was completed in May 2007.  However, it was based on the original concept of using Developer financing to pay for design and construction of the homes.  Now that the University has decided to finance the project, the financial picture is considerably changed.  Our Geotechnical Report and Environmental Impact Report will also provide much more specific cost information.  Thus, a major update to the original study is in order, and will take place this fall and winter.

Part of the revised study will be to provide a more detailed analysis of demand from campus faculty and staff.  A new campus survey in late fall will ask more specific questions about family size and home preferences, in order to help us detail the number, size, and phasing of homes to build, and evaluate features to be provided.

Until final design plans are available, actual construction costs and sales prices cannot be determined.  Of course, home costs will be targeted to current Sac State salaries and household incomes.
