New Streets

New City Streets

New street construction will improve the Village's connection to the surrounding community. For years (well before the Village concept), the City has been planning new streets and bicycle routes to integrate the project area into the City. Potential new streets include:

  • A northwest extension of Ramona Avenue passing under Highway 50 and the Light Rail line, connecting to Folsom Blvd. directly across the street from the University campus.
  • A southern extension of Ramona Avenue connecting to 14th Avenue.
  • A new railroad overpass connecting Redding Ave. and Ramona Ave.

A new concept being considered is to build a new street connecting the east side of the Village to Power Inn Road opposite the Light Rail parking lot entrance.

The University will construct a new Folsom Blvd. entry to campus aligning with the future Ramona Ave. intersection.  Besides benefiting the Village, this road will make campus much more visible and accessible to the public.
