Sacramento, Calif., March 19, 2020 – On-campus housing is open but residents are being encouraged to consider alternate housing options if they are able. There is no current plan to close University Housing at Sacramento State, although, if many students choose to move out of housing, the remaining students will be asked to relocate based on CDC social distancing guidelines and other COVID-19 recommendations. For example, if only a few residents are left in a building we would ask those students to relocate vs. keeping the entire building open for just a few residents.
Both the Servery at the Dining Commons and the Courtyard Market are currently open and operating standard hours. However, the Servery will only have “To Go” options due to CDC guidelines limiting gatherings to 10 people or less. If the on-campus resident population declines significantly, the Servery hours may be reduced or it may close and all meal service would be provided by the Courtyard Market.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, students are allowed to cancel their housing and dining contract at any point during the rest of this semester. An exception to the licensing agreement has been made to waive the cancellation fee and reduce the standard 30-day advance notice to ten days. Please visit the Sacramento State website for more information and details.
